About me

My name is Melanie de Bruijn. I am 34 years old and grew up in the southern Netherlands. I live in Amsterdam for about 5 years and have now spent about half of my life trying to figure out human emotions and nature. I have never avoided the tough periods in life and have always found, and still find, it fascinating to discover new ways of dealing with life’s ups and downs. What I enjoy most is to find ways to make life easier and lighter, even when the circumstances are challenging.

- I breath in my courage and exhale my fear -

I have a broad experience working with people of different backgrounds and topics. I started my career as a psychomotor therapist in a forensic institute where for five years I was part of a care team that treated people with double diagnoses. It was during this time that I decided to further develop myself as a therapist and started the 3-year long education at Phoenix called Professional Communication. This educational program taught me transactional analysis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Systemic work. These three movements all approach people’s personalities from a different perspective. My training as a therapist completed even more last year when I finished the educational program Transformational breath to become a breath coach. Afterward, I started to host breathing sessions. Now I use insights from both my experience and the educational programs to guide people in their process. The connection between our body, our mind and becoming aware of our breathing are important and valuable factors in every guidance process.
